Rebecca Coupe Franks has lived in Santa Cruz and the Hudson Valley. Coupe was jogging in New Paltz when she saw garbage cans on the street curb being set out for garbage service. This is when the idea of starting the convenience of CanCan service was born.

Coupe grew up in Santa Cruz, California, and moved east to NYC where she received her BFA ( New School) and MM in music from Eastman School of Music. Currently, Coupe is teaching music at SUNY New Paltz.
